The saying goes “They don’t make equipment like they used to!” and that’s definitely true.
My neighbour who is a farmer with over 50 years of experience had an old hay baler that had been sitting under his pine trees for 12 years. I approached him about it and he said ‘’If you can get it going, you can have it’’. Sure enough I got it up and running, which helped kickstart lifestyle pastures to what it is today.
Ever since I fell in love with the idea that a paddock is the source of life for animals we all rely on. Having been in many lifestyle block paddocks I often come across some very poor performing pastures. I have always been interested in ways to get more out of paddocks whether that is being able to have higher stocking rates or getting more hay off of it. With this being something I was interested in, I purchased a Great Plains seed drill. I decided to do this to offer the service of pasture renewal and bring some of these lower-performing paddocks back up to high-performing paddocks.
Having been a local in West Melton my whole life and I have completed my education at West Melton school and Rolleston College. I am now studying agricultural science at Lincoln University.
I have lived on a 30 acre lifestyle block my whole life, I have a good understanding of the needs of lifestyle block owners.
My goal is to work with you, the lifestyle block owner, to advise and discuss your pasture requirements and to build long lasting relationships.
Please contact me to discuss your needs
